בשנת 1999, לאחר מעבר לקליפורניה, ארה"ב פתח מסעדה חלבית גדולה (120 מקומות) - Cafe Blue.

בצלאל זכה בפרסים רבים על מצויינותו דוגמת זכייה במקום השני בתכונית הטלוויזיה הפופלרי Top Chef.

במקביל היה שף-מנהל של חברות קייטרינג בלוס אנג'לס, כאחראי על פרוייקטים, עיצוב, בניית תפריטים לאנשי העשירון-העליון ב-LA.
